1995 MS Historic Preservation, emphasis in Conservation, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Curriculum included two years of conservation science, documentation, site analysis, preservation planning and archival research.

1984 BFA Hamilton College, Clinton NY. Degree awarded with honors

Professional History

1999 to present St. Peter’s Church (1764), Philadelphia, PA. Conservation work on eight sarcophagi in cemetery includes cleaning, shoring up foundations, resetting stones. Work performed with preservation mason. Work includes conservation survey, documentation.

1999 St. John’s Site, Historic St. Mary’s City, MD. Surveyed XVII century archaeological site for causes of deterioration and conservation needs. Took moisture level readings, photo documentation and reports.

1999 John Bartram House and Historic Bartram’s Garden, Philadelphia, PA. Assessed conditions and wrote conservation grant proposals which were awarded (IMS, Getty, State of PA). Monitored ambient conditions, documented moisture levels and water damage in plaster layers, helped perform intermediate conservation treatments to water conduction system. Work performed with engineer Richard Ortega.

1998 Frens and Frens Architectural Firm, West Chester, PA. Performed surveys of ten International style building facades and one Wissahickon Schist building for structural damage.

1998 Fair Park, Dallas, TX. Worked with Pittsburgh Art Conservation Laboratory as part of the conservation team on the first floor of the Fair Park Tower. Performed treatments on bar relief sculptures and medallions incl. stripping of overpaint, consolidation of plaster layers, fills. Duties also included surveys, photographic and written documentation of the sculpture and of the replication process of the Art Deco Eagle on the top of the tower.

1997 City of Philadelphia. Performed a survey and condition assessment of all outdoor owned by the city with a team of conservators. Worked performed with Nicholas F. Veloz.

1996 Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee, Harrisburg, PA. Monitored the conservation treatments and processes of the Barnard Statuary at the Capitol and researched its maintenance and conservation history. Also provided surveys for Mercer tile floor and researched history of memorials at Capitol.

1995 Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia, PA. Conducted research of historic written and photographic archives of exterior marble cladding of Second Bank of the United Conservancy and edited survey.
