Placement, School of Conservation, Litomysl, the Czech Republic.

Study of Czech philosophy & application of it to conservation of wall paintings, stone and paper.

1997-1999

Associate Conservator, Kamp Gallery, Winnetka, IL.
Sole active conservator at gallery. Analyze and assess damage and
conservation needs. Clean, reline, inpaint lost pigment, repair
structural support, and varnish oil paintings on various
materials (mainly American and European works dated from 1850-1940). Liason with customers and clients, oversee conservation-supply inventory.

1998-present

Independent Conservator, Chicago, IL.
Sole conservator and sole liason with clients. Provide cost estimates,
damage assessments, and forecasts of work needed. Set deadlines, manage multiple tasks for several clients simultaneously. Perform all activities of restoration process.

1996-1997

Painting Conservator, Chicago Conservation Center, Chicago, IL. Sole inpainter for Hiawatha seven-piece mural series painted by George Brandt in 1913 for the Chicago Public School system. Inpainting required gesso application, color-and glaze-matching, local varnishing.

Paper Conservator, Chicago Conservation Center, Chicago, IL. One of two archivists responsible for the reassembly of the Henry Crown Family Scrapbook Series. Scrapbooks consisted of 18 separate 100-page volumes, which included photographs, articles, and documents. Assessed the conditions of the books with the objective of meeting archival standards for future exhibition purposes. Conservation required the inpainting, cleaning, and encapsulation of the photographs; and repairs to paper, including the removal of adhesives and inpainting.

1991-1997

Objects Conservator, Raven & Dove Antiques, Wilmette, IL.
Restored antiques, specializing in ceramics, ivory, enamel, and coral.
Handmolded missing pieces, inpainted lost pigment, reassembled
damaged works.
