PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Surveyed clients' collections on site, examining individual works of art, storage and display facilities.

Examined works of art With magnification, ultraviolet and infrared technologies, and x-radiography to determine their materials, condition, and potential for conservation treatment.

Developed IBM computer skills (Internet, database, word processing, records maintenance, documentation, files, billing and invoicing).

Prepared written reports of surveys, advising client institutions about collection care, climate control, priorities for treatment of individual works, on-site storage and display.

Advised clients of funding and development opportunities. Prepared grant applications (NEA, N.C. State Grants) with client development officers.

Trained client staff hi art handling, exhibition security, and safe storage practices.

Prepared and distributed bibliographies for further study of conservation and art history.

Produced brochure Immediate Care for Art and Antigues for distribution to clients and collectors.

Collaborated with museum communications department and media reporters to publicize conservation department activities for museum publications and mass media.

Cooperated with staff from other museum departments including curatorial, design, registration, development, and communications.

Designed conservation treatments to restore the appearance of aged and damaged paintings while conserving original material and maintaining the intent of the artist. Examined and treated large mural paintings in situ. Treated paintings by European and American artists in the conservation laboratory. Framed and unframed works of art. Repaired minor damage on picture frames. Arranged safe storage and transport of works of art,
